OSM cement spacer molds are designed to provide the surgeon with choices never before offered in a two-stage revision knee surgery for an infected total joint.  OSM cement spacer molds empower the surgeon with the potential to customize an antibiotic loaded articulating cement spacer specifically for the patient. This Cement spacer mold system is designed to help retain the patient’s natural range of motion, maintain soft tissue tension and assist in enabling patient ambulation while the infected site rids itself of septicity.

The disposable cement spacer molds (Femoral and Tibial) are sterile disposables that get filled with polymethylmethacrylate and or a gentamicin bone cement combination, or equivalent, either by injecting with a dispensing gun, or by pouring the prepared cement into the mold.  After the cement cures, the temporary spacers are to be removed from the molds and placed into the joint space. The spacers remain in place (180 days or less) until a conventional knee joint prosthesis is returned to the patient’s knee.

Available in multiple sizes, OSM knee cement spacer molds are sterile disposables made of medical grade elastomers that make the process of casting temporary joints the safest, most repeatable process in the market.

Tibial Sizes Include: 80mm, 75mm, 70mm, 65mm

Femoral Sizes Include: 75mm, 70mm, 65mm, 60mm

Note: Tibial and Femoral sizes can include interchangeable arrangements

Features:

  • Innovative venting method to ensure a repeatable molding process to ensure optimal mechanical integrity of temporary prosthetic.

  • Safest demold process of any cement mold system on the market via a patented strap lock system since no hand cutting of the mold in OR is required.

  • Most repeatable mold demold process in the industry where the temporary prosthetic always holds its shape when demolded.

  • No silicon materials used in mold materials which can transfer silicon release agents into temporary prosthetic.

  • It is a resilient mold system where an inadvertently dropped mold on floor in OR can be quickly flash sterilized for reuse, or when an additional cast prosthetic is required.  This mold system can be re-assembled for multiple reuse, unlike the competition.

This product is scheduled to launch into the US market 1st business quarter 2018.
